Uranus Retrograde and Eclipse Season Commences with a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

 

September is here and we are in for one wild ride this month.  It began with Saturn moving back into Pisces on September 1 until mid-February 2026.  Saturn in Pisces is all about spiritual surrender and dissolving the structures that no longer are viable in our lives.  And our first eclipse this month on September 7 is in 15 degrees of Pisces.  This eclipse will be a repeat of the Lunar Eclipse we had on September 7, 2006. The world is a very different place from 2006, but if you are old enough to remember it, you might be facing some similar issues.

Right before that total Lunar Eclipse, Uranus stations retrograde in 1 degree of Gemini on September 6.  Uranus will stay in Gemini until November 7 when it moves back into Taurus to handle its unfinished business.  Then it re-enters Gemini on April 25, 2026 until 2033.  We are going to be experiencing strong Uranian energy for at least the first ten days of September.  This means we could see earthquakes, cyberattacks, aviation disasters and shocking awakenings.  The news will not be dull now.

This year is an incredibly intense portal between the past and the future.  It is quite rare to have Saturn, Uranus and then later Neptune dipping from Aries and Gemini back into Pisces and Taurus.  So I am not kidding when I say there is unfinished business to deal with.

The total Lunar Eclipse on September 7 is in 15 degrees of Pisces.  If you have any personal planets or points (like your Nodes of the Moon, Midheaven, Descendant or Ascendant) in the mid degrees of the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius, you cannot escape the intensity of this eclipse.  I have my Moon in 14 degrees of Gemini in my 8th house, so I am once again in the line of fire. This is a North Node eclipse, so we are obtaining some closure towards the future.  There will be endings and new beginnings.  Hopefully, with a Lunar Eclipse in the sensitive water sign of Pisces, we can see it as the end of victimhood.  The endings can be purposeful, but we need to be mindful of the inclination towards self-pitying and a feeling of martyrdom.  Pisces has an affiliation with its victimhood role, so try to step away from the concept that it's happening to me and perceive it as something happening for me. The Sun in Virgo is conjunct the South Node of the Moon in Virgo, which is motivated to be perfect and get things right.  

A Lunar Eclipse in Pisces has strong themes of surrender and release.  There is no doubt that we all are going to need to give up something to get to the future. We need to release what is no longer working for us, no matter how painful that is.  The bottom line is that we are all on a collective level grieving what is the past and we need to move forward despite the fact that we are still unsure how to do that. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac; it is extremely emotional and sentimental.  We have already had a taste of Saturn and Neptune in Aries (the first cardinal fire sign of the zodiac) and Neptune will move back into Pisces on October 22 until January 26, 2026.  My sense is that the decade of the 2020's will officially launch in 2026 because we are still in the processing of releasing the past.  Yes, we are all dealing with themes of loss and grieving a way of life that is no longer viable. On an astrological level, this started in January 2020 with the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn that launched the pandemic.  I am sure that many people will agree that life has not been the same since COVID.

We do have some bright spots on the day of the eclipse.  Mars in Libra is squaring Jupiter in 19 degrees of Cancer, which can see many of us fighting for justice.  Jupiter is on my Midheaven then, which is leading to my Jupiter Return.  But this eclipse is also trining Jupiter in Cancer, which gives us hope and faith that something good will come of this...  Do not count out Jupiter's role in this eclipse.  After all, Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, and I am eternally grateful for having this natal placement.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Saturn Re-enters Pisces and Mercury Moves into Virgo as We Prepare for Eclipse Season

 

In case you have been living under a rock, we are entering the portals of eclipse season. Spoiler alert- big changes are coming! But I always tell my clients that the effects of Solar Eclipses can be felt for up to three months before and after they occur, while Lunar Eclipses are most potent six weeks before and after they occur. So many of us are in the thick of it now and feeling it big time. The month of September features a Lunar Eclipse in 15 degrees of Pisces on September 7 and we have a Solar Eclipse in 29 degrees of Virgo (our second New Moon in Virgo this year) on September 21.

The month of September will be launched with Saturn backtracking into Pisces until February 13, 2026.  I know, Saturn was previously in Pisces from August 1, 2023 through May 24, 2025.  Saturn has been retrograde in Aries (it only made it to one degree) since July 13 of this year.  It will station direct in 25 degrees of Pisces on November 27, 2025.  Saturn is not particularly comfortable in Pisces because Saturn is all about form and structure, while Pisces is more about spiritual awakening, reality checks, karmic cleansing and a test of compassion. Saturn in Pisces challenges us to make our dreams a reality, which is no short order.  It's literally a meeting of form and formlessness. When Saturn is in Pisces we can also experience health issues with our feel and be prone to auto-immune diseases.  

All I can say that is whatever we didn't finish up between August 2023 and May 2025 is calling out for one last do-over.  It's time to tackle that unfinished business before Saturn moves back into Aries on February 13, 2026 and remains there until April 12, 2028.  Saturn is not particularly patient in Aries, so the future should be interesting...

When Saturn stations retrograde in 29 degrees of Pisces on September 1, it will be in my 6th house of work and health while exactly trining my Jupiter in 29 degrees of Cancer in my 10th house of career and public standing.  At least it's a trine.  I can say that this aspect will give me patience, endurance and the ability to solve financial problems.  Saturn trining Jupiter also helps you practically focus on long-term goals and take responsibility.  Not exactly fun stuff to hear, but it is what it is...

On September 2, Mercury moves into Virgo, one of its home signs.  Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo, so it is always a very happy camper when it is in these two signs.  Mercury will quite literally be zipping through Virgo, as it leaves on September 18. When Mercury is in Virgo, we are more analytical and better equipped to deal with details.  Our speech is more precise and we tend to be more productive.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Mercury in Virgo is a tendency to be more critical and we should all be fine with this Mercury transit.

Mars in Libra will be squaring Jupiter in 18 degrees of Cancer on September 4.   Despite this being a square, it will give us a boost of energy to start new projects, provide courage and allow us to take risks.  Okay, we might be on overconfident, impatient and exaggerate to take those bold moves.  But even the squares to Jupiter aren't as harsh say as a Venus-Pluto square.

This is what we have to work with until that Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 7, although Uranus will achieve its own fame on September 6 when it stations retrograde in 1 degree of Gemini on September 6.  Yes, Uranus will get back into Taurus to tackle its own unfinished business from November 7, 2025 through April 25, 2026.  More on that in that next week's post about the Lunar Eclipse.

Virgo Season is Upon Us as the Sun Enters Virgo and the First of Two New Moons in Virgo

 

We are up for some big changes in the upcoming week.  The Sun moves into the mutable earth sign of Virgo on August 22 and we have the first of two New Moons in Virgo on August 23.  The second one will occur on September 21 in the form of a Solar Eclipse.  And Venus will enter Leo on August 25.

When the Sun enters Virgo, we tend to be more grounded, practical and responsible.  It's much easier to focus on details and find solutions to problems.  Virgo is also associated with health, so it's a perfect time to start a healthier diet or fitness regime.  We can get organized and improve communication on the job.  We are literally aiming for perfection when the Sun is in Virgo, but the shadow side of the Sun in Virgo is being too critical or judgmental.

Venus in Cancer is squaring Chiron in 26 degrees of Aries on August 22 as well.  This can trigger past relationship wounds.  We might be feeling insecure or unappreciated in relationships.  Try to accept your vulnerability (I know, that's a tough one and I am the first one to admit that I don't do vulnerable well) and practice some self-compassion in order to heal those wounds.  This can be a stressful day.

On August 23, we have the first of two New Moons in Virgo.  This one is in 0 degrees of Virgo.  I know that we always hear about 29 degrees being a critical degree (which the second New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, will be in on September 21), but 0 is also a critical degree because it represents the purest energy of whatever sign it falls in.  A New Moon in Virgo has strong themes pertaining to daily routines, health and service to others.

This New Moon is extremely complicated and has the potential to be quite volatile.  It squares Uranus in 1 degree of Gemini, which can bring sudden disruptions, power outages, the potential for cyberattacks, seismic activity and shocking truths revealed around health issues.  And this New Moon is involved in a Yod with Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius.  The Sun and Moon are inconjunct Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius while squaring Uranus in Gemini.  Inconjuncts are all about adjustments being required, and this one has a theme of karmic adjustments.  A Yod is also called the Finger of God and can feel very fated.  Both Saturn in 0 degrees of Aries and Neptune in 1 degree of Aries are sextiling Pluto in 1 degree of Aquarius while being inconjunct the Sun and Moon in 0 degrees of Virgo.  Yods are powerful influences that can bring unexpected events that ultimately bring about restructuring.  This is especially true with Saturn being a part of that Yod.  We will need to remember to let go of old illusions (this is where Neptune comes in) to initiate a major refresh.  And we will get a chance to reexamine whatever seeds we plant or decisions we make on September 21 when we have that second New Moon in 29 degrees of Virgo, a Solar Eclipse to boot.

If you are old enough to remember 2006, we also had a New Moon in 0 degrees of Virgo on August 23.  The North Node was also in Pisces back then.  I remember that day all too well because my brother died on that day, only eight days after my mother died.  I am hoping for less loss this year but am trying to prepare myself for the likelihood of a disruptive time.

Venus leaves Cancer on August 25 and moves into Leo until September 19.  This can serve as a breather after the intensity of the New Moon in Virgo.  It is a real feel-good transit that has us feeling more creative, warm-hearted, dramatic, and glamorous.  It's time to let our inner child out to play.  We want to shine and enjoy the finer things in life.  It can be a delightful time, but just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Leo is a tendency to be self-centered, spend too much money or throw temper tantrums.

A Week of Second Chances and Opportunities for Healing

 

We are experiencing a relatively quiet week astrologically for a change.  But not for long because next week the Sun will move into Virgo, we will have a New Moon in Virgo and Venus will enter Leo. Then we start entering eclipse season, which kicks off in September.

On August 18, we will have the second sextile of Mercury in Leo to Mars in Libra.  The first one occurred on August 14 when both planets were in 4 degrees of their respective signs.  This was also right after Mercury stationed direct in 4 degrees of Leo on August 11.  I am sure that many people were rejoicing on this day after a particularly grueling Mercury retrograde.  The second sextile on the 18th will fall in 7 degrees of Leo and Libra.

What is the theme of Mercury sextiling Mars? First off, let's remember that sextiles represents opportunities that must be acted upon to reap the benefits. When Mercury is sextiling Mars, our minds are speeded up and we feel driven to succeed.  We really want to accomplish a great deal. We are infused with courage and ambition.  So don't be afraid to be direct and honest.  It's much easier to be bold and take chances now.  Mercury in Leo is not exactly shy and loves the limelight.  When I said we have second chances, it is literally true because if you didn't take advantage of this aspect on August 14, you get another shot at it on August 18.  Do not hide your light under a bushel.  Get out there, speak your truth and socialize or network.  It will pay off.

The opportunity for healing happens on August 19 when the Sun in Leo is exactly trining Chiron in 27 degrees of Aries.  This is an optimal time for personal growth, meditation, journaling and therapy.  It can also inspire us to help others, so feel free to share your perspective and let yourself be vulnerable.  Lean into those old wounds so that you can heal them. You might find yourself being more effective at healing others, but that is okay.  The Sun is conjunct my Pluto in Leo in the 11th house, so I wouldn't be surprised if I see an increase in my astrology and Reiki business at this time.

The North Node is in Pisces now and this hasn't happened since mid-January 2007.  This can be a very soulful time as we are called upon to trust our intuition, embrace the unknown and embark on a path of spiritual discovery.  Try to be more compassionate towards others now and let go of our critical thoughts because the South Node is in Virgo.  We all know that the shadow side of Virgo involves being critical and seeking perfectionism.  But we can integrate the need for service that Virgo is associated with to achieve the compassion and spiritual side of Pisces.  Jupiter in Cancer is also trining the North Node in Pisces, providing us with another spiritual blessing of luck and expansion.  The last time Jupiter was in the middle degrees of Cancer was in September 2013.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. August Heats Up with a Full Moon in Aquarius, Mercury Goes Direct in Leo and a Venus-Jupiter Conjunction in Cancer

 

We have a super-charged Full Moon in 17 degrees of Aquarius coming up on August 9, 2025.  Mars recently entered sibling air sign Libra on August 6 and it's already been very busy.  Mars in Libra trines Uranus in Gemini on August 8 and also opposed Saturn in 1 degree of Aries on the same day.  Mars trining Uranus can lead to breakthroughs but its opposition to Saturn can slow us down and make us question the structures in our lives. Mars opposing Saturn while trining Uranus can make us feel like we are raring to move forward, but we keep getting pulled back.  It's a classic one step forward, two steps backward motion which can be very frustrating.

The major theme of a Full Moon in Aquarius is how to balance our individuality with the need to contribute to the collective.  That's a pretty big order to fill these days.  On the Full Moon we also have Mars in Libra opposing Neptune in 1 degree of Aries.  Our dreams and faith are being tested with the potential for confusion and exhaustion.  Patience is needed as we deal with the back-and-forth motion of Uranus, Saturn and Neptune interacting with Mars.  There are real obstacles and roadblocks, so it's going to take some time to get the results we want.  Don't be in denial about it.

This Full Moon in Aquarius is falling in the end of my 4th house and is in a three-degree separating orb from my Mars in Aquarius.  So there is absolutely no way that I am escaping the tension of this one....

Mars in Libra will be trining Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius on August 10, which will give us a boost of energy and sense of empowerment. It also means that we have received a Grand Trine in Air since Mars entered Libra on August 6: it trined Uranus in Gemini on the 8th and now on the 10th it trines Pluto in Aquarius.  I have a natal Grand Air Trine involving my Libra Ascendant, Moon in Gemini and Mars in Aquarius, so I can attest that this is very positive.  It's good stuff, so take advantage of whatever opportunities present themselves to you.  One thing I can tell you is that you really need to do something when opportunity knocks.  It's quite literally a case of when you snooze, you lose otherwise.

On August 11, Mercury finally stations direct in 4 degrees of Leo.  I don't know about you, but this has been one brutal Mercury retrograde.  I think that the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio bore the brunt of it.  Mercury has been retrograde since July 18, but it entered the shadow period on June 30.  It will clear its retrograde shadow on August 25 when Mercury is in 15 degrees of Leo.  But we can rejoice in the fact that things will get back on track with communication, transportation and with electronics.  The chaos and drama are starting to recede.

We have one really beautiful and lucky aspect to look forward to on August 12.  Venus and Jupiter (aka the Benefics) are conjunct in 14 degrees of Cancer on that day.  Good fortune, love and abundance could be coming your way on this day when these two planets meet up.  Don't forget that Jupiter is exalted in the sign of Cancer.  This is a day to plant the seeds for our desires to be fulfilled.  I am looking forward to it because this conjunction is five degrees away from my Cancer Midheaven and trining both my Sun and Jupiter in Scorpio. Enjoy the day and prepare to reap the bounty of these two planets converging...

Venus in Cancer Gets Very Busy with Saturn, Neptune and Pluto While Mars Enters Libra

 

The month of August is here and Venus, which just entered the cardinal water sign of Cancer on July 30, is already very busy. I mention that Cancer is a cardinal sign because they love to initiate action and we could very well see some action during this first week in August. 

On August 1, Venus in Cancer is squaring Saturn in 1 degree of Aries.  Venus squaring Saturn can be a very stressful time for relationships as fears and criticism can surface.  Don't be surprised if you feel unappreciated and experience difficulty expressing affection on this day.  However, it can lead us to establish better boundaries in relationships as limitations and responsibilities are emphasized.  Venus squaring Saturn can also play out as financial constraints.  This aspect is exact at 9:34 a.m.

Since Saturn and Neptune are traveling together in Aries these days, Venus in Cancer will also be squaring Neptune in 1 degree of Aries at 4:49 p.m.  When Venus squares Neptune there is a theme of insecurity about our appearance or love life.  We might be prone to overidealize a romantic partner.  This is also not the most self-disciplined time and we could find it easier to engage in some substance abuse.  Finances might take a hit if we act impulsively too.  At least this is happening on the weekend...

On August 2, Venus in Cancer will be inconjunct Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius.  When Venus and Pluto get together, there tends to be a strong theme of obsession and an intense desire for love.  And with an inconjunct, the planets are in signs that have nothing in common, so there is always some amount of adjustment or course correction necessary to survive. This aspect will highlight power imbalances, unhealthy relationship patterns and unmet needs.  Try not to start a new relationship under the auspices of this aspect but focus on repairing an existing one or changing your attitude towards power.

Mars enters Libra on August 6 and remains in the cardinal air sign until September 22.  Mars in Libra motivates us to achieve more harmony in relationships.  We tend to act more cooperative and diplomatic with Mars in Libra. Fairness is very important to us now and we won't hesitate to fight for it.  This isn't the strongest placement for Mars because it rules the opposite sign of Aries.  Some astrologers would say Mars is in its detriment in Libra because there might be difficulty expressing anger or frustration.  The shadow side of Mars in Libra is a tendency to procrastinate or be indecisive.  Avoidance of confrontation and passive-aggressive behavior are also common when Mars is in Libra.  Mars has been transiting my 12th house since mid-July and won't enter my 1st house until early September, so I am quite familiar with these traits.  Mars transiting the 12th house is not exactly going to make you a fireball of energy, but it is sweet when it hits your Ascendant and I am looking forward to that surge of energy.  

Mars in Libra will be very active around the Full Moon in Aquarius on August 9, but more on that in next week's post.  Enjoy and make the most of this first week in August.

The Sun in Leo Faces off with Pluto in Aquarius, Chiron in Aries Joins the Retrograde Party and Venus Sails into Cancer

 

How are you all faring with this Mercury retrograde in Leo?  As a Scorpio, I am definitely feeling its effects. The fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio are probably bearing the brunt of this Mercury retrograde. Since Mercury went retrograde on July 18, I have lost a Zoom recording, my phone has shut off and given me a "Phone unavailable" message and my Fitbit battery started draining rapidly.  And customer service for Fitbit (now owned by Google) was not able to help me.  I mention this because in addition to Mercury, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto retrograde, Chiron is joining the party this week.

The Sun in Leo is opposing Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius on July 25.  Power will be a key theme of this aspect.  We might be seeing a compulsive urge to take control, manipulative tactics, jealousy, intense emotions surfacing and some major confrontations.  But the silver lining of this aspect is that it can lead to transformation.  Hold that thought...

Chiron has been in Aries since 2019 and it will be joining the retrograde pileup of planets on July 30 when it stations retrograde in 27 degrees of Aries.  It is known as the "Wounded Healer".  Chiron will remain retrograde until January 2, 2026 when it stations direct in 22 degrees of Aries.  When Chiron is retrograde, it will bring up old wounds and traumas for healing.  In the sign of Aries, it can be a time to reclaim our courage and identity because it represents a time of empowerment.

I feel that the Chiron wound never really goes away and that when Chiron is retrograde, it can serve as an astrological therapist.  Yes, you have to face the pain, but you can emerge from this period (the rest of 2025 into early 2026) with the tools to heal and become more self-empowered.  I know this is definitely true in my case, as is it currently trining my Pluto in Leo, opposing my Neptune in Libra, and squaring my Uranus in Cancer.  During the retrograde, it will once again square my natal Chiron in Capricorn.  It happened the first time in May and I will get another hit in October.  I am not escaping the effects of this retrograde, and you shouldn't attempt to either.  As the saying goes, resistance is futile.

Venus is leaving Gemini on July 30 and entering the cardinal water sign of Cancer until August 25.  This will cause a major shift in relationships and finances as we are more likely to reflect on home and family.  We will feel a desire to create more safety and nurture our relationships.  It can also be described as a sentimental journey as we seek to strengthen our bonds with loved ones.  The shadow side of Venus in Cancer is that we can be moodier. The water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will benefit the most from this transit.
